VvL Newsletter

The VvL has reintroduced the VvL Newsletter, which is planned to appear three times a year. You can find the most recent editions here.

 

November 21, 2022

The first Annual VvL Seminar is happening on December 8, in Groningen. The event is inspired by the departmental logic seminars that are organized at each university, and aims to unify the universities for a collaborative seminar. Besides hosting a main speaker, Sonja Smets, the seminar will also be the location of the award ceremony of the VvL MSc Thesis Prize winners, who will give a short presentation of their thesis.

 

June 1, 2022

The winners of the VvL Master's Thesis Prize 2022 have been announced. This year's winners are Anna Dmitrieva, Maximilian Siemers and Dominik Wehr. Congratulations! Read more.

 

April 28, 2022

The yearly VvL Logic at Large Lecture is coming up on May 31, 2022! This year, Joel David Hamkins will give an online talk on Infinite Games. Zoom access details will be provided in the upcoming weeks. Read more.

 

March 30, 2022

The VvL is co-organizing Logic4Peace, a fundraising online Logic event for Peace. It takes place April 22 & 23 2022; abstracts can be submitted until April 11. The official website can be found here.

The event is used to collect financial aid for two specific causes:

  • We financially help our colleages at universitites in Ukraine, who are either displaced or have lost their homes, and thus are in urgent financial need.
  • We support the charitable fund 'Voices of Children', which provide humanitarian aid and assists in Ukraine with the ongoing evacuation processes.
